The USO had set up a few different food vendors so you could choose what you wanted to eat then they also had a huge tent set up that had some fun little random games for the kids to play and collect prizes. They also had a stage set up and had asked different people around base that either sing or have a band to come out and entertain the guest. They were also supposed to have a bounce house set up for the little ones, but due to the wind that didn't happen, and also due to bad weather they were not able to play the outside movie.
When we first got out there around 6 the weather wasn't too bad, it was really windy and cloudy but they kids were having fun. They played a few games and got some tattoos and then they were off to play with other kids. While the kids were playing Shannon, Beth, Miann and I just sat around talking and watching them all.
After about an hour or so the rain finally hit, we were watching the clouds and had just commented on how dark it was getting when it decided to down pour. I helped Shannon with her twins and we all ran for cover to get out of the freezing rain, which only lasted about 4 minutes. When it stopped the boys all started playing again and that lasted for 15 minutes when the rain came down again a little harder and longer. That is when we all decided it was time to go home.
