Paris!! - Day 1 and 2

When John and I got married we always said our Honeymoon was going to be in Paris. However, once we were both over here in Europe we always did other trips and never made it to Paris. We are supposed to be leaving Italy and moving back to the states in a little over a month and decided we better hurry up and get it in. We decided a good time to go, since Paris is the city of Love, would be over Valentine's Day. Well we didn't exactly make it on that day but we went the weekend before and had a blast.

We were there during the off season which had its pros and cons. The major pro was that there were NO lines anywhere. We were able to walk right onto the elevator at the Eiffel Tower and right into the Louvre. In the summer they can have lines a couple hours long. The major con to going in the winter was the weather. The whole time we were there it was around or below 30*F, then you had to add the wind chill to that, so yes we were freezing!

We ended up being in Paris for a night and 2 full days before we headed back home. The first night we hit up the Eiffel Tower which was literally around the corner (maybe a 5 min walk) from our hotel, then had dinner. The first full day was spent sightseeing around Paris. We hit all the major spots that we both wanted to see. The last day in Paris we took the train out to Disneyland Paris and enjoyed the day out there.

The pictures can tell the rest of the story!
The first day our plane landed later in the afternoon, so once we landed we took the train into town and found our hotel. We dropped off all our stuff then grabbed dinner at this cute little cafe at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Once we finished eating we headed over the the Eiffel Tower.

The line for the Eiffel Tower was super short (we pretty much walked on the elevator) so we decided to go on up and see Paris at night. This is a shot of the the Ferris Wheel.
Arc de Triomphe at night

The next morning we woke up and headed out for a long day of sight seeing. Our first stop of the day was the Arc de Triomphe.
Looking down the Champs Elysees
We were enjoying the view from up there

Once we left the Arc de Triomphe we headed down the Champs Elysees. During our walk we saw a Mercedes Benz showroom and decided to stop in and see what they had. This was the very first car we came up to.
This car was close to $300,000

I can't even afford their bicycle...it was close to $6000
We continued walking and came to a small shopping area. I LOVED this shoe store but man the prices!!!

Small cars require small tow trucks!
We kept on walking and came across this. We both thought it was going to be something really cool the way it was set up...but it was only Abercrombie and Fitch.

On our way to the Louvre we walked through the Jardin des Tuileries Park and this was some of the art work in the park. I loved how bright it was

John was really wanting to go to the Louvre so I had to get a pic of him in front of it!

We left the Louvre and continued on our way to Notre Dame!

The stained glass in this Cathedral is AMAZING!!

To finish off our day we caught the Metro back to our Hotel and made a stop by the Eiffel Tower. We had to get a good pic during the day!!

We had a GREAT time in Paris. The next post will be of our last day in Disneyland Paris!
