A couple months before I headed back to the states a good friend of mine from Hawaii told me she was going to be in Washington DC for about 3 months and asked if we would like to come up and see her for a weekend. I talked with mom and Bri and we decided that Bri and I would go. Mom wanted to but that is her busiest time of the year so she couldn't go.
On the 17th Bri had to go to school for a little while then that afternoon we headed to the airport. Our flight from Amarillo to Denver was a little late and we had a quick connection time so we were hoping we would make it. We got off the plane in Denver and ran to our next gate only to see that that flight was delayed an hour. By the time we got to DC it was around midnight, and our friend, Megan, picked us up at the airport. We went straight to her place and headed to bed so we would be ready to go the next morning.
On Thursday morning Bri and I woke up early and headed out for a day filled with site seeing. Megan had to work that day, so she set us up with a tour that day that hit most of the major sites in DC. Bri and I started off the day at Arlington Cemetery, and we decided that it was probably not a good idea for us two to head out by ourselves. We had only left Megan's place and made it to the metro station before we got lost for the first time. We didn't see the signs saying the directions of each of the trains and we got on the one going the wrong direction. We realized what we had done at next stop, so we switched trains and were at Arlington Cemetery within 15 minutes.
Just arriving at Arlington Cemetery
