Colorado Bound

March 14
Sunday morning John and I were supposed to wake up around 5 so we could leave around 6 or so to head to Colorado. Our friends Don and Megan from Hawaii were supposed to be flying in and we were going to pick them up at the Denver airport around 2pm. However, we got a text not long after laying down that night and their flight had been cancelled and they were on a new flight that wasn’t going to land until 7pm. John and I decided to get that extra hour of sleep and leave with the rest of the group.

The trip started off as just a family vacation, but we kept inviting people to come along with us so we ended up with a group of about 16 people. When it was all said and done the group was, Mom, Dad, Brianna, a friend of hers Lindsey, my aunt Britt, her boyfriend Clay and her two kids Jett and Jaide, then some family friends Casey, Keshia, and their two boys, Gunner and Skout, then our friends Don and Megan and John and I.

Once we got to Colorado we got our hotel rooms in Evergreen, and headed to the ski rental place so everyone could get their rentals. John and I had to leave before everyone else so that we could get to the Denver Airport and pick up Megan and Don. This drive was an experience in itself, it had been snowing all day and it was getting colder and later so the roads were getting iced over. To get to Denver we had to go over a couple of passes and they were not fun. There were semi’s stopped in the middle of the roads because they couldn’t make it up the hills. Then we were only in a 2 wheel drive so I was beginning to wonder if we were even going to make it. An hour and a half after we left the hotel we finally made it to the airport. After we picked them up we met up with my parents, Bri and Lindsey at Saltgrass for dinner.
