The rest of the time in Minnesota the weather was pretty nasty (rainy and foggy) so we spent a lot of time not doing a whole lot. It was nice to just sit back and relax and get completely readjusted to the time change.
While we were still sleeping one morning John got an email from a friend in Italy telling us the results were up. Back in January John took a test for a promotion to become chief. If you pass the test then you make board. Then you go into the selection process to determine if you make chief or not. So when John got this email he went to the internet to start looking up his status. He finally found it after about 30 or 40 minutes of looking and was completely shocked I think, but HE MADE IT!! So, now we get to sit around and wait till August to find out if he made chief or not. But I am so proud of him for just making board his first time up!
The last thing we did in Minnesota before leaving was the Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean concert on Thursday (March 11) night. The concert was really good and I am glad we were able to go while we were there.
The next day we woke up and headed in to Minneapolis so we could get on planes again and head down to TX. We had a 4 hour layover in Denver so we had to come up with something to pass the time. We ate lunch then found some pretty comfortable chairs at our gate and just messed around on the computer and played games on the ipod. Then we caught our flight on into TX.
The best part of this whole flying trip was, we had a 4 hour layover in Denver on Friday and then we drove right back to Denver on Sunday!! (it wasn’t that bad though and we needed to drop off lots of luggage before going back up to Denver anyways)
