John and Bethenie: Day 10 - London Tour 2nd half

After lunch we got on the bus again to head to our next stop, St. Paul's Cathedral. One the way we past the Methodist Center Hall. This was really cool to see since I grew up in the Methodist Church. I would love to go inside this church but I haven't had a chance yet.

We finally made it to St. Paul's Cathedral and had a really good time there. I really enjoy going inside this church the artwork inside and the decorations are just unreal. While we were there they had all the Galleries open so we were able to walk all the way up to the top of the Cathedral. The only thing I don't like about St. Paul's Cathedral is you can't take pictures inside the church.

There is lots of history around St. Paul's Cathedral and the area it is built on. There has been a Cathedral on the site for 1,400 years and is named after Paul, one of the first Christians who brought the good news of Jesus to Europe.

St. Paul's Cathedral as many different areas including a Crypt, located in the basement area of the church. This area is where many people have been laid to rest some of them being, Lord Nelson, Duke of Wellington, Florence Nightingale and Sir Christopher Wren (the man who built this Cathedral)

We were able to climb the steps (257 stairs) up to the Whispering Gallery. It is said that a whisper spoken against one wall of the Gallery can be heard 32 meters away on the other side of the Dome. Then we could climb 119 stairs further and be at the Stone Gallery. One the way up to the Stone Gallery there was this glass covered hole that looked all the was down to the center of the Cathedral Floor.

After going to the Stone Gallery we walked another 152 stairs up to the Golden Gallery and it led outside and around the top of the Cathedral and these are some of the views of London from up there.

Once we finished at St. Paul's Cathedral we headed over to our last stop of the tour, the London Eye. I had never had a chance to go on the London Eye so I was excited to see the views of London from there. The line wasn't very long so we were able to get on pretty quick and take in the views.

Since the London Eye was our last stop on the tour and it was only 5 o'clock when we finished we decided to walk around London and do a little shopping while we waited for Megan to get off work. As we were walking around we came across some street performers that were break dancing. They were actually really good.
